Description

Luis joins the army to defend Mexico against French aggression. At the same time, he falls in love with the French Ambassador's niece. When the Mexican army is losing steam, Luis is able to rally the troops once more by playing the national anthem on his trumpet. As a result, the soldiers recover and beat the French. In the process, Luis is wounded and loses his life just when the woman he loves has been freed from jail.
