Description

David McVicar's production of Die Meistersinger is updated to the early-19th century of Wagner's childhood. At the center of the cast is Gerald Finley, an 'eminently believable' Sachs, supported by the dynamic conducting of Vladimir Jurowski which uses Glyndebourne's special intimacy to focus on the subtlety of Wagner's musical and dramatic counterpoint.
